It depends on the product. Most custom blinds and shades take a few weeks from order to installation; shutters and custom drapery take longer. We give you a timeline with your quote.

Custom window coverings are priced by size, fabric and operation, so two similar-looking windows can differ a lot. Instead of misleading 'from' prices, we give you an exact written quote per window after a free measure.

Health Canada's Corded Window Coverings Regulations, in force since May 1, 2021, limit reachable cords to 22 cm and loops to a 44 cm perimeter. We recommend cordless or motorized options, and install any chains with tensioners to the manufacturer's instructions.

No. We measure every window ourselves during the consultation, so the order is made to the exact size.

Yes. Most of our shades and drapery tracks can be motorized with rechargeable motors and connected to Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home through a hub.

Standard zebra fabrics filter light and give privacy but do not black out a room. For bedrooms we recommend a blackout zebra fabric or a blackout roller shade, which we can pair with drapery for full darkness.

Yes. They are the most popular choice in GTA condos: slim cassettes, cordless operation, and white or neutral backings that many condo boards require on street-facing windows.

Dust with a soft brush or vacuum brush attachment, and spot-clean marks with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not soak the fabric.

Solar screen fabric is woven with a small openness so you can see out while it cuts glare and heat. Blackout fabric is opaque and darkens the room. Many clients choose a double roller to have both.

Yes. We measure each panel and recommend fabric widths and brackets so large condo windows roll evenly.

Blackout fabric blocks light through the shade. To stop light at the edges, add side channels or layer with blackout drapery.

Not usually. Rechargeable battery motors need no wiring. Hardwired motors are an option during renovations and are connected by a licensed electrician.

It depends on the motor, shade size and how often you use it — commonly several months between charges. A small solar panel can top it up.

The shade can be lowered from the top and raised from the bottom, so you can let light in through the top of the window while keeping privacy below.

No. Zebra blinds use flat alternating bands; sheer shades have soft fabric vanes floating between two sheer layers, giving a softer, more luxurious light.

With vanes closed they give good privacy. For full night-time privacy choose room-darkening vanes.

A modern heading that hangs in even, continuous S-shaped folds on a track. It looks clean and tailored and is very popular in condos with ceiling tracks.

In the GTA the names are used interchangeably for louvered interior shutters. Some suppliers use 'California' for narrower louvers.

Cellular skylight shades reduce heat gain and glare noticeably. A blackout fabric blocks the most light and heat.

Light rain is generally fine, but retract them in heavy rain, snow and high winds to protect the fabric and arms.

Yes. We check the wall or soffit structure, height and clearance before quoting.

When frosted it diffuses light for privacy but still lets daylight through. It is not a blackout product.

Smart film needs a low-voltage power supply. We assess wiring on site and tell you what's needed.
